Academic Participation
Overview
The U.S. 教育部要求学生出席或参加课程，以便有资格获得联邦学生援助. newbb电子平台认为任何及格的分数都代表了在课堂上的学术参与.
当学生正式退课时，自动分配退课分数(W). Effective Fall Semester 2017-18, 所有的W分数都要求教师添加及格(P)或不及格(F)指标和最后一次参加的日期; or 从未参加(N)指标，记录学生从未参加. Withdrawn grades do not affect the student's GPA.
At the end of the semester, 如果你班上的一个学生从来没有参加过，或者参加过之后又停止了, but did not officially withdraw, you should assign one of the following grades:
- FN = Failure, Never Attended

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Am I required to take attendance in my class?
A: No. Per the Faculty Handbook, "The weight given to the class attendance in determining a student's grade is an academic matter; therefore, all instructors are responsible for their own attendance policies." (Faculty Handbook, Updated February 2017, p. 65)
Q: Will I be notified when a student withdraws from a class?
